This model is combination of two previous BMW’s car model, which were the BMW 7 Series E23 sedan and the BMW 5 Series E60 sedan.
Model development
The BMW 6 series is produced into three kinds of model. The first generation is E24 6 series. This model, produced in 1976 - 1989, offers 2-door coupe with types of transmission are 4-speed automatic, 4-speed manual and 5-speed manual.
The engine powered this model is 197 PS (145 kW), then, the launched 635CSi is with 3453 cc SOHC and its engine is 218 PS (160 kW) which has top speed is 222 km/h (138 mph) and it can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) just in 7.4 seconds. 
The second model is E63/E64 6 Series produced in 2003–2010. The body style of this model offers 2-door convertible and 2-door coupe, while the engine ranges from 3.0 L (2996 cc) I6, 3.0 L Diesel (2993 cc) I6, 4.8 L (4799 cc) V8 (N62) and 5.0 L (4999 cc) V10 BMW M6, by its transmission is 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed SMG III semi-automatic. 
The last model is F12/F13 6 Series produced in 2011- present. The specifications are 2-door convertible and 2-door coupe of body style, the engine has 3.0 L (2979 cc) I6 and 4.4 L (4395 cc) V8, it has 6-speed manual and 8-speed transmission and the wheelbase is 112.4 in (2855 mm).
