BMW 3 Series




It is a compact executive car and it has been produced in five different generations and five different body styles as well.

Car models


The first model is E21 produced in 1975-1983. It has 2 door sedan and 2 door convertible of body style and the layout is FR layout. The production is marked the introduction of a new design concept for BMW with the center console angled towards the driver and a sign of, 4 door Sedan and 5 doors touring of body style. The layout has front engine and rear-wheel passive safety, all edges and control elements within the interior were rounded off and padded. The engine ranges of 316 (1.6 litre), 318 (1.8 litre) and 320 (2.0 litre) versions of the BMW M10 four cylinder engine. The second is E30 in 1982-1994. It has 2 door Coupe, 2 door convertibledrive / All-wheel drive. The third model is E36 in1990-2000. It has 2 door coupe, 2 door convertible, 4 door salon and 5 door touring of body style. The layout has front engine and rear-wheel drive. The fourth generation is E46 in 1998-2005. It has 2 door coupe, 2 door convertible, 4 door salon and 5 door touring of body style by its layout is front engine and rear-wheel drive/all-wheel drive. The fifth is E90 manufactured since 2005 up now. It has 2 door coupe, 2 door convertible, 4 door salon and 5 door touring and the layout is front engine and rear-wheel drive/all-wheel drive. The F30 is the sixth model produced since 2012 up now. The body style comprises of 2 door coupe, 2 door convertible, 4 door saloon, 5 door touring and 5 door lift back and the layout is front engine and rear-wheel drive/all-wheel drive. The 2012 3 Series is expected to be powered by a new family of aluminum four-cylinder gasoline engines ranging from 135 to 220 horsepower.
