Ford Transit


It in variant from Ford Motor Company that has variety of panel vans, minibuses, and pickup trucks. It is produced in Europe including Turkey and since 1953, it has over six million Ford Transits been manufactured. It also includes three basic platforms along with few facelift versions of each type.

Car model

The first type of Ford Transit was produced in 1953–1965. It was called as the 1964 Ford Taunus Transit. The second type was Ford Transit manufactured in1965–1978. The third generation was Ford Transit produced in 1978–1986. It was as a facelift version launched with a redesigned nose section, new interior and the introduction of the Pinto engine. It was from the Cortina located in the Essex V4. It was powered by 1.6 L Ford Kent "Xflo" engine. The next was Ford Transit manufactured in 1986–1991 along with minor facelift produced in 1991–1994 (VE6 & VE64). The engine was varied from the last of the 1978-85 generation models. Then, the subtle facelift produced in 1992 had independent front suspension, rear wheels on the LWB derivative and increased payloads. The fifth model was Ford Transit produced in 1994-2000 (VE83). The face lift given was a novel nose and dashboard and powered by 2.0 L DOHC 8-valve engine. Then, the turbo diesel type offered 85 PS (63 kW), 100 PS (74 kW) and 115 PS (85 kW) version along with an electronic fuel pump. The sixth model was Ford Transit manufactured in 2000–2006 (V184/5). It was called as motorhome. It was produced in front and rear-wheel drive. Further, it featured the "Puma"-type Duratorq turbo diesel engine. By this engine, the speed the Transit can reach is 60 mph (97 km/h) in 21 seconds and the top speed is 93 miles per hour (150 km/h). It also offered Durashift EST automatic transmission. It was aimed for all rear-wheel drive models by controls panels placed on the dashboard comprising of adapted manual mode, tow-haul mode, economy mode and winter mode. The seventh model was Ford Transit produced since 2006 up to now. The platform is JX6541DK-M and it is the Chinese model. The specification was the changed interior and more ergonomic, standard power windows, optional ABS. The engine had two diesel engines and one petrol. The petrol engine power had 67.6 kW (Type JX493ZQ3), and the diesel has 68 kW (JX493ZQ4) by 2771 cc capacity. Therefore, the petrol engine utilized a Barra 190 inline-6 motor by its top speed is 68.35 mph (110 km/h). The eight models was Ford Transit produced since 2006 up to present. It is aimed for Europe by its type is V347/8. The engine comprised of 2.2L Duratorq TDCi I4, 2.4L Duratorq TDCi I4, 3.2L Duratorq TDCi I5 and 2.3L Duratec I4. The transmission offered 5 speeds and 6 speeds manual. There were a revised on front and rear lights, front end and interior by featuring the gear stick on the dashboard and the added of Ford's new corporate radio as well as its power trains. Later on, it was Ford Transit County 4x4. The last one was Ford Transit XXL. It was limo style van and the most expensive Ford Transits model ever.
