Honda CR-V



This is a new variant of Honda’s compact crossover SUV, produced since 1995. Its aim is to please a public order for a sport-utility vehicle. The CR-V is manufactured is two countries, such as Wuhan, Chinese and Jalisco, Mexico.

Model designs

Starting in 1995 up to 2001, Honda launched CR-V first generation. It was RD1–RD3. The engine used was 2.0 L B20B I4 producing 126hp (94kW) and 133 lb•ft (180 N•m) of torque and 2.0 L ' 'B20Z I4, the transmission comprised of 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. Moreover, the chassis was a unified body design of 4-wheel double wishbone suspension, where inside of it, the rear seats were able to fold down and a picnic table was stowed in the rear floor area. An ordinary exterior feature was plastic shell covering the front bumper, rear bumper and fender wells. Moreover, Honda's Real Time 4WD system on the CR-V utilizes a Dual hydraulic Pump Rear Differential and 4WD Transfer case. To allow the ABS braking system to work when the CR-V is occupied in four-wheel drive operation, the 4WD will shut down if the brakes are in use. The second model is RD4-RD7 produced in 2002–2006. This mode is full re-design by the engine has three kinds, 2.0 L I4, 2.2 L turbo diesel I4 and 2.4 L I4, the transmission has 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 4-speed automatic and 5-speed automatic. The engine can reach to 160 hp (120 kW) and 162 lb•ft (220 N•m) of torque. Although the power increases, the new CR-V maintains the fuel economy of the previous model. The current improved chassis has increased torsion and bending rigidity. The last model is RE1-RE5 and RE7 produced in 2007 up to now. It has 2.0 L R20A I4, 2.2 L N22A turbo diesel I4 and 2.4 L K24Z I4 of engine by transmissions are 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. This model can reach up to 166 hp (124 kW) at 5,800 rpm and 161 lb•ft (218 N•m) at 4,200 rpm. This recent CR-V attributes a rear lift gate and no spare wheel attached to the back door. Moreover, this new model is lower, wider and shorter with a unique feature located in the center rear seat of pass-through.
